The Trump tax cuts were underwater on popularity with Republican voters, and it still got passed. Funny that.
And to add to that, instead of doing the correct thing and advocating for abolishing the draft and ending these wars, instead they turn it into a petty battle of the sexes. If I'm going to die, you're coming with me! Nothing gets accomplished, patriarchy remains, and it continues to hurt men along with women.
They just hate women and love the idea of seeing some of them sent off to die in a pointless war.
Look, I'm not here to defend MRAs or anything of the sort, but I don't think this is correct except for the most extreme cases. MRA is a pipeline that leads to that kind of abject hatred, but there's more to unpack if you want to actually understand how people fall into that pipeline than just "they hate women." Full disclosure, on my road to leftism, I dabbled in this stuff, but I never made it so far as to hate anyone. It was presented by most of the reasonable seeming posters on those subreddits as a systemic issue, like racism. Of course I know now it's silly to think of men as systemically oppressed, but that's a very different thing than just blindly hating women. Your disdain of MRAs is fine and cool and good, I'm not looking to make the issue morally nuanced, I'm just trying to shed a little more light on how people go down this road. Assuming every single person who upvoted this post want to watch women suffer and die is a little simplistic is all.
They contend that women actually enjoy a privileged position in society and would balk if faced with real equality: like registering for the draft. Of course women don't want to be drafted. Fucking nobody wants to be drafted, including these guys. But they're treating it as an affirmation of their worldview and enjoying that women will suffer one of the burdens of maleness now too, rather than using this as an opportunity to advocate for the removal of forced military service for all.
Anyway, don't worry about it, go do something nice for your draft card.
It's the most direct example they can point to of society feeling "unfair towards men" so they hammer it as much as possible.
To answer your question, military conscription kills and injures enormous numbers of men. Extending the draft to women is of course terrible. I'm surprised by the takes here. Being pressed into military service is not a laughing matter.

america has a draft? like brazilians are forced to present themselves to the army when they are 18 so we just have like a really bad day being treated like shit by some military officers and then we receive a leave or are enlisted (although you are really not likely to get enlisted unless you want to as there are people that want the job and there are more 18 years old than the army could ever enlist
There hasn’t been a draft since Vietnam, but men are required to sign up for selective service when they turn 18 that makes them eligible to be drafted if they ever “need” to reinstate it.
yeah same thing i am techinically a reservist in the brazilian army as is every single brazilian male older than 18 (also if someone does not present themselves they are fully denied most federal services can't work on any government situation or study in a federal university among other things, something something service citizenship)

The whole deal with MRA's is they will bring up legitimate issues men face but only as an excuse to hate women or whine about how hard it for men without actually wanting to improve conditions for people. They want to win the oppression olympics more than they want to help others.
So you see them whining about how unfair the draft is but they don't want it gone because "women must suffer as well"
So you see them harp on and on about how the vast majority of workplace injuries/death are suffered by men (which is true) but they don't seem interested in demanding safer workplaces to reduce these kinds of problems.
So you see them get into unbridled fury at false rape accusations levied at men and male rape victims (who often aren't taken seriously) but they show no sympathy to female rape victims.
They don't want a world that's better for everyone, they want things to stay the same so they can keep having a legitimate excuse to constantly whine about how hard it is for men and how sexism (against women) isn't real.
Just idiots being vaguely justifiably angry at one aspect of crimes of imperialism, and then blaming women for it.
