This just turns literally all aircraft carriers into a future pile of floating scrap metal. Hopefully a non NATO country can develop this technology as well, otherwise yeah....

both Russia and China have missiles of this type. Countering US carriers has been a priority for both of those countries

6000 sailors surrounded by carcinogens on top of a nuclear reactor and 3m gallons of jet fuel. The last place I'd want to be in a modern war is on a CVN. The second-to-last place would be any waters nearby a sinking CVN.

The SSN/SSBN fleet is still the wildcard, but subs have their own set of countermeasures and I think Guam is still within range of Chinese missiles. Without carrier groups we've got no ability to lock a region's airspace down or support ground forces so it'd damn our ability to maintain a fight.

The B2 bombers are also a thing. They're stealth, can travel halfway round the world and carry nuclear weapons. Even with anti stealth radar techniques, they're still hard to detect if you don't know they'e coming

They launch from a static airfield and require super special ground crews/supply lines though. We can safely launch them from a US airfield but I'm not sure what safety means in an era of cheap drones and hypersonic weapons. Maybe it's a viable first strike, maybe it's only a first strike before airfields are unusable. Subs are totally hidden for 6-12 months at a time unless you detect them temporarily. A CVN's top speed is classified but carrier groups can probably move at a destroyer's pace. Those have a lot of flexibility so it's like the old ICBM/submarine nuke debate.

you wonder why after the Missile Incident at Al Assad airbase and against the Oil Raffinery , US suddenly started to move all their assets away .

I have this theory , that selling effcient military equiment is not actually desired for private Companies , if they know they get the Orders anyway.

like the Drone that Iran Shot down some time ago was 250 € Million or something , for a Drone , thats so Insane pretty sure 220million are just "Middleman Greasing" or something like that ....

Oh and "Lazers " of Course , Soon the Lazers will be ready , they only try this stuff since the 50's , but given the lack of results , they should get a Higher Budget apperantly , not stop the Nonsense ...

It doesn’t. Missiles like this aren’t effective anti carrier weapons.

I don't see a CIWS or anti-cruise missile shooting this down as it slams into the deck at 90 degrees (and neither does China). Like that particular design looks a bit rubbish for the task compared to a purpose-built weapon, but the R7 was a bit rubbish for an ICBM and it could put a nuke on DC just fine.

Yeah but all you do is damage it. It doesn’t have an explosive payload. Building it with an explosive payload would be so expensive and utterly worthless compared to an equivalent amount of Chinese anti ship missiles.

if the Flight deck is damaged , no airplane can start ... so it does the Job ... not this one , this one is for space stuff , but others ...

What the fuck are you saying? The flight deck can be repaired at sea.

yeah sure ... , I mean if China only sends a single Rocket and then gives the US 3 weeks for the Repairs ... and all the Airplanes in Flight find another Carrier to land on...

You’re thinking that this is more worth it than a crap ton of cheap anti ship missiles?

the general tactic with missiles warfare i learned is to always send some cheap shit with the expansive shit , so the defenses dont know which targets they should prioritize ..
