I've read two articles now, I'm still pretty confused. Concerning because I was going to attend a school for a bit there. I see there's a potential coup and some right wing crazies getting riled up. And that the us is against it... But that's about it.

Can someone help me out here?

Did a little research, here's where I'm at:

    -Electoral Year

-Everyone's expecting another corrupt pro statu quo government.

-Corrupt government takes most parties with an anti-corruption or anti statu quo narrative out of the race

-smalll Social Democratic party that used to have only 5 congress people ends up in second place for the presidency and becoming the 3rd largest force in congress

-they do that under an anti corruption campaign

    -Corrupt government in shock

-Corrupt government tries to take party out of the election so they can't participate in the runoff for the presidency

    -They can't

-small Soc-Dem party clutches it out

-Presidency plus 24 seats in congress

    -Devastating for the corrupt government

    -Corrupt government go REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

-They try to invalidate the elections

-Mass protests and road blocks for 14 days

    -Can't invalidate elections

-Pressident elect has talks with private sector and indigenous coallition to stop roadblocks and protests

    -Stopped

-They take members of the soc-dem party into costudy

-they try AGAIN to invalidate elections

    -international community in panic

    -Is this a coup!?

    that's it this far
