It still would lack artistic depth to it and also artistic freedom to it, so no chief.
This isn't chinese anime's time to shine, when CCP ceases to exist, then we can have a different conversation.
Until then, not worth discussing about chinese anime.
Gee I guess all of Dostoyevsky's work is retroactively not worth considering because Tsarist Russia didn't have artistic freedom.
Cope.
I genuinely can't imagine or remotely empathize with being that deeply incurious about other human beings' cultures and artistic output. Even if you bought every single propaganda line about le eViL sEe SeE pEe hook, line, and sinker how tf does that preclude someone making entertaining or insightful art. Shit is clearly steeped in sinophobia and very obviously undercuts the "i hate the government not the people" BS.
Anyway downloading this show as we speak. I've been feeling burnt out on anime and standard anime tropes but still hope this one is solid.
It's good, and from what I recall it has almost 0 tropes. For instance, the main cast is all 20-somethings who have finished uni, rather than the typical anime high-schoolers.
