Here are some that I can think of:

  • Michael Richards- used the n-word multiple times in response to black hecklers during a stand-up performance.

  • Roseanne Barr- said Valerie Jarrett, who is partially black, looked like a Planet of the Apes character.

  • Gina Carano- compared Joe Biden's policies as President to the Holocaust.

Even then, Carano will be working for The Daily Wire and Barr was doing a stand-up tour prior to the coronavirus pandemic. Also, Richards has made or still does make a lot of money off of Seinfeld and probably could have had a career like Jason Alexander (making the rounds as a television guest star), if he wanted.

I still use so many LessWrong framings. I think we could salvage it for the left

Nah, I used to go to their meetups and talk about how capitalism doesn't make sense. People stopped showing up till I left. Even the guy that would drink multiple gallons of milk a day for some kind of science project.

Everything I've heard about the meetups sounds like...

Okay, you know how Yudkowsky is a smart guy who has a lot of interesting things to say, but he's also just kind of high on his own farts? Convinced he's gonna save the world, whatever weird ideas he heard are the secrets of the universe, we need to reconstruct gender norms so nerdy white guys have harems?

From what I've gathered, he probably picked all that up through cultural osmosis from whatever weird bay area techie crowd contains the IRL LessWrong community. Like he's kind of on the normal end of whatever that is.

Yeah, I still see or interact with with him on Facebook occasionally and man. I can tell why that kinda guy would want to be less wrong in the way he lives his life, I am just amazed he has put none of the ideas into use.

What no material analysis does to a motherfucker. You make your beliefs pay rent and then your model of the world is accurate and having no goals beyond some vague AI shit isn’t a problem. Either that or they tend to want a technocratic solution to death itself. Like... you could just give people more nutritious food. It’s not as sexy as curing death, but it sure as fuck helps

yeah, they still have like, a club house in silicon valley where people can rent co-working space and have like, book clubs and stuff. I am still emotally invested as this whole thing did get me onto the path that radicalized me.

The natural conclusion from death is wrong and we shouldn't make people die, is capitalism is wrong as well. but do they not ever open that box

Remember when Anissimov went full NRx chud, ragequit, and set up a blog named "more right" before spiraling into a weird sex breakdown or something and becoming a Nazi Primitivist in Oregon? Just endless lulz.
