My wife is a pastry chef and do chocolates as a side job, when that Van Gogh crappy projections expo was on our city my wife had the idea to make some chocolates painted with "Van Gogh" style and they sold so well that she had to do 2 additional batches to keep the demand. Months later we saw a youtube video about all that expositions and other projects related of Van Gogh and how his art is so much commercialized and modified that it barely resemble the original art and intentions of Van Gogh. And now, every time some other new Van Gogh project, like this one, is presented I teased her saying that her little group of capitalist had found another way to exploit this man work.

I wonder how many months we are away from somebody (Elon probably) creating a "Talk to Hitler" bot. And the PR will pretend that "This project is not hateful nor antisemitic. It is an effort to aid people in understanding history firsthand..."

Imagine reviving only the completely weird artists like van Gogh. Time has washed away their eccentricities because their art is cool, and now we're gonna trap their soul in code just to expose how weird they were to people. I'm at the museum talking to digital Erik Satie:

"Monsieur Satie? What was your thought process behind your composition Vexations? It's such a lovely piece."

Tortured Erik Satie cyberghost, "I eat bones and lick the mold off fruit."

If AI could truly bring someone back from the dead, it would be enormously cruel to do that to someone who made the specific decision about being alive that Van Gogh did.

Like it would already be cruel to doom someone to almost-life to serve your curious whims, but to bring a being into the world with that level of mental anguish just for fun would be downright evil. It is a being you literally made just to suffer.

Luckily it's just a chat bot.

There was an animated movie about him in which over a hundred artists physically painted the frames in his style. AI will never have the capacity for soul
