Blowback is honestly getting hard for me to listen to. Just... the unbridled evil of the United States. Wherever there are the poor and oppressed striving for something better, there is the US to stamp out their hope and then take a piss on them for good measure.
Something about learning about Cuba- I can only listen in shorter chunks compared to season 1. Maybe it’s because I was actually tuned in to the events of (at least the second) Iraq war, so I know what’s coming.
Damn, was thinking about subjecting some lib friends I'll be driving to S2, but if it's too heavy maybe I shouldn't. I try to moderate the most depressing parts of radicalization when coaxing people over.
I wouldn't say it's too heavy, after all Castro wins in the end and to this day Cuba is still socialist. It's just the relentlessness of the US is just a bummer. Here's this small post-colonial island nation just trying to lift themselves out of poverty and create a more just society, and the most powerful nation on earth seems obsessed with bringing them down.

I had to stop listening to the first season after like three episodes because it made me too angry.

It's kinda heavy but it's also over 50 year old news at this point.
