The Census Bureau on Thursday issued its most detailed portrait yet of how the U.S. has changed over the past decade, releasing a trove of demographic data that will be used to redraw political maps across an increasingly diverse country.
Whiteness in America has always had a component of class to it; as the country diversifies and the the concept can't feasibly expand beyond skin tones it will adapt into the more covert class and cultural signifiers. PoC living in "nice" neighborhoods who enjoy "mainstream" things will be brought into the fold. This will alienate and anger the diehard fascists but overall it will be a net gain that will help maintain white supremacy as it currently exists in the more covert, harder to see systemic forms that benefit the actual "white" people.

I've also personally had a few very unsavory experiences with upper class PoC as someone living in a diverse area. I think it's just that actual classism is becoming more and more of a thing in the US. I think some people see me and assume I should be picking berries or mowing lawns.
The definition of white will expand
You can already see light skinned Hispanic people who aren't poor are starting to be considered white. At least from what I've seen.
