It's a nice house, but it's not a mansion. This house discourse is :shrug-outta-hecks:
I've seen talk that this is "for his family" so those five bedrooms might be getting some use and not just be extra gaming rooms and shit.
If the house is modestly appointed but spacious, that would jibe with the idea of buying for one's family.
But idk.
Yeah, he had his family move in with him during quarantine and it was pretty cramped. Not surprised he wanted somewhere with more bedrooms.
More power to him.
Shame upon online leftists getting mad about this.
I mean I get why this hits some people wrong, times are tough right now for a lot of us. Comparing the 500kish Hasan probably has in the bank to Bezos or Zuck though is missing the scale of this shit.
There was a cool github project someone posted on here a while back that showed the scale of 1 million vs 1 billion vs 1 trillion in assets and it was mind numbing. A person with 1M in assets has more in common materially with us than a billionaire.
Double digit millionaire? Yeah something is probably fucky there, but a highly paid wage worker like a doctor or engineer can sometimes wind up as a millionaire after a decade of work.
That's part of the fake meritocracy carrot the wealthy hang in front of us, those higher paid wage workers included.
I swear to god, people think that he just had 2.7 million dollars in his bank account and just... bought a house outright. People are so alienated from the concept of homeownership that they have forgotten that mortgages exist. If you do the quick math, assuming today's rates which are like 2.25% and fixed 30 year at that, he's paying like $10,500 a month. Rent in that area for a 2 br apartment with 1 bath is like $7500 a month. It's just a nice house in a bougie area, with enough room to house the family that lives with him. Big whoop.
People are so alienated from the concept of homeownership that they have forgotten that mortgages exist.
Oh shit, yeah, I think you nailed it.
Is that 10.5k number after the 20% downpayment?
Either way, paying an extra 35% a month for another 3 bedrooms, a yard, and no landlord seems like a sweet deal if you can afford it.
I actually don't remember what I put as the downpayment when I did the math, there. I think I did like 200k when I calculated it at the beginning of this shitshow to just have numbers to wave in people's faces that this really isn't anything monetarily extravagant when factoring everything in.
And he works from home. So I don't think it's unreasonable to use a bedroom as an office. It's very nice certainly but honestly way more modest than I'd expect from a top twitch streamer.
I went looking for pics so I could dunk on him and there are no dolphin tanks or jacuzzi beds or saunas. Turns out Hasan just bought a nice house? This controversy feels like "Bernie has a lake house" all over again.
It had an in ground pool. Only above ground pools are proletariat!!!
Pool floaties? Bourgeoisie.
Chlorine filter? Believe it or not, also bourgeoisie.
I mean yeah, capitalists made urban centers with nice houses that are obscenely overpriced that are situated relatively close to slums, and they also built industrial and agricultural areas for american yeomen that they have since abandoned. Having a problem with a streamer who spends most of his working hours exploiting no one for buying a house when they could have "moved to the countryside to live modestly" (which seems like what you'd rather he did? not clear) is literally the same self-interested bourgeois argument as "if you don't like it here, move" that chuds break out when they legislate religious reactionary policies.
justice requires proving that azanabi is a gamer and not just a guy that plays games. only gamers get the gulag comrade.
come down to my small town of under 7k people in Wisconsin
I could probably buy a WAY more fancy house there for about 700k
Truth is, if you live in a city or urban center, you’re privileged
I used to live in Baltimore mofo, you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Also, I’ve been surprised at the pockets of luxury that exist in weird ass places in this country, I’ve stood in million dollar comes in fucking bumfuck Wyoming for Christ sakes.
Truth is, if you live in a city or urban center, you’re privileged, and you have no idea how good you have it. You’re not abandoned and left to die yet.
I get that you have it rough and I feel for that, but you clearly haven't seen the poverty in cities. Most of my work with local orgs is getting mutual aid to people who have been abandoned.
I mean it doesn't have chandeliers and staircases and shit. Def a nice house, though.
lmao, I was going to make a joke about a struggle session when this had like 8 comments or whatever. I come back to over 50
Not even a real name, just a pepela emote written out
If you and I commented 73 times each we could get there, comrade.
I think his parents are coming with him.
It's unclear if his brother Murat, or his vastly less successful uncle, Cenk are moving in with him.
The comments are cancer, but also look pretty close to the ones here on that crab meme from yesterday.
How long do you think Hasan has before he'd have to stop using that pool because of the mega drought going on in the west?
