Ive never listened to it. I don’t feel like doing any research. I also don’t feel like listening to a podcast that y’all say sucks. But why y’all hate on it? And why did their fans brigade the site like a year ago? Hit me with the cumtown low-down

Okay so I’m reporting back after listening to some of the bits on YouTube. It’s not that funny. All I heard was immature gay jokes. I think coeliacmccarthy hit the nail on the head with their description. I might’ve laughed at it if I was like, 14. But I didn’t get more than a small chuckle.

it's a podcast for simulating the friendships you had when you were 13 if you are twice that age with no friends

you can listen to it and laugh but don't let me see you admitting to it

I love that you've fucked up your keyboard by typing the word "Cumtown" too many times.

Also them brigading us is fucking weird.

Edit: The site is closed and I need to have an account to login. Damn.

If it turns out that the CTH hosts are failed comedians who couldn't hack it in the standup scene, that would be very funny. Because it seems like almost every other podcast I've ever listened to was hosted by failed comedians who weren't funny enough for the stage. And these supposed heralds of the new Left or the dirtbag left or whatever you want to call it actually being losers just seems perfect. Fitting.

I don't even hate the hosts, it's just that when I first found their show I was very much babby's first leftist and now, as my politics has grown beyond them, going back and occasionally listening to their show in their post-Bernie era they do just seem like losers who spend their time hate-reading the New York Times and talking about incomprehensible Twitter nonsense.

It's a podcast where the hosts love to make song parodies with the phrase "I'm gay" in them, but they're not like innately terrible, just deliberately terrible.

It’s a lot of ironic and raunchy humor. If you don’t like that, you will probably hate the show. It’s a friendship simulator like you were in the room with friends being stupid and gay.

I have no idea why people would say cumtown is leftist at all... it isn't, its a podcast about dick jokes and how funny it is to say the N word as a white person. There are funny bits, Adam and Stav seem like genuinely good dudes but I'm convinced Nick is a sociopath, and that his "joking" racism isn't all that joking.

They got big by being friends with Chapo. That's the only reason they pop up in leftist circles.

When ever they talk about politics they are quite leftist. They just are too grillpilled to really care to talk about them much

They take reactionary stances on shit just as much as they take leftist ones. I believe Stav and Adam are leftists, but I don't think Nick cares about anything but himself.

Edit: I also think its a really bad idea to be telling people it is "leftist" since there are baby leftists who might see that and think its ok to act like they do in leftist spaces.

          50-50

I think there is a place in leftism for people fundamentally uniterested in politics and dirtbags. So someone holding that place is good. Maybe not them, but I dunno who would be.

This is how you get a bunch of stupidpolers. Y'know... like the kind who come over from the cumtown website to harass us on the regular.

It's three douchey guys who say pretty problematic shit on the regular, which kind of sucks cuz I think they can be genuinely funny sometimes. I wouldn't advocate listening to the podcast, there's a lot of meaningless rambling, a lot of the funnier bits they've done are on YT now, so if you can handle the chauvinistic language they often use but want a cheap laugh you can check it out.

Edit: thought their The Irishman review was good

I've listened to a couple episodes, it was kinda funny but really stupid, juvenile, and "ironically" bigoted. Sorta like Your Mom's House but for nerds, or if Rick and Morty was a comedy podcast hosted by three white bros. I guess some of their fans dropped any pretense of irony and went full fash.
