Yeah he was more akin to a spree shooter than a political militant. People can meme about him killing cops all they want, but his violence was motivated by a blending of personal and societal grievances, not by a deep theoretical basis. He was notable because he had military training and had previously tried to whistleblow on police corruption, but he was not some leftist martyr.
