Dorner is made to seem pretty......badass? Like, I read about the incidence itself on wikipedia and it pretty much made him out to be Pig Terminator, sniping head shots from 100 miles away while cops had no idea wtf was going on.

Yeah he was more akin to a spree shooter than a political militant. People can meme about him killing cops all they want, but his violence was motivated by a blending of personal and societal grievances, not by a deep theoretical basis. He was notable because he had military training and had previously tried to whistleblow on police corruption, but he was not some leftist martyr.
