    Leftists being racist in a heavily racist society in the 19th century (and also in the start of the 20th century) when the left wasn't even heavily involved in racial justice is not problematic at all.

        Yup but i'm fucking sick and tired of leftists throwing at each other how Marx cheered for the confederates (or whatever the fuck is always brought up against him) or Proudhon being proudly sexist not to mention fucking Bakounin because we're trying to one up each other (though me saying this won't change this at all)

        What i meant is that while it has to be acknowledged that they were racist, no one in their right mind (okay, maybe some weirdos from 4chan) supports them because of that. You can take the good things they said and call out the shit they said but using it as mudslinging against each other is just utterly stupid.

          Considering the shit that the people who came up with capitalism were into, people like sexist Proudhon and "On The Jewish Question" Marx are still better anyway

      This is very poorly worded but I agree with the sentiment.

      In other words, we shouldnt judge leftists on their social views with a lens that is pretty much centuries beyond their own. Im ok with that.
