    People shit on the book, much of it deservingly, but Settlers is good at showcasing what happens when you accept the alienation of some part of the working class for the sake of "the majority". Spoiler alert: it's not socialism.

      I mean, I'm sure people shit on it for not being written by a trained academic, but I've been reading it and it's pretty good. Sakai does a good job showing that race is constructed as a contradiction to enforce class oppression and it works super well and has poisoned most organizing in the u.s.
