In gommunist China, dangerous medical experiments are performed on prisoners against their will

Huh, so all of the major vaccines of the world ranging from Sinovac to Pfizer are untrustworthy because they're "experimental and unproven" but horse cum is trustworthy because of over 40 years of already existing as a medical substance?

The social fascists on the Bernie sub that align with the reactionaries on shitting out their intestinal lining to own the libs deserve such a fate.

My mom is generally a kind and compassionate person. When the news about Cuomo's hand sanitizer prison labor came out last spring she just did not care at all, basically saying they probably deserved it. Fast forward to the Kabul suicide bombing and she's tripping over herself to mourn the US soldiers and won't hear a word about the Afghan civilians killed by American grunts after the blast.

The worst thing is that when I talk to her about how much her generation was propagandized to, American imperialism, etc. she's very receptive, but when it's time to apply any of those ideas it just goes out the window

Also boomer brain. A whole generation grew up huffing leaded gas and eating leaded paint chips, especially in certain countries/areas. Plus cold war brain.

If that wasn't scary enough, it's extremely easy to become a prisoner even if you've done nothing wrong.

      • In a lot of places you can spend years in jail pre-trial
      • Over 90% of cases end in a plea deal, so you probably won't even get a trial
      • If the choice is between having your life destroyed by pre-trial jail time and taking a plea deal, a lot of innocent people are going to take the plea deal

      Like you said, :amerikkka:

"Terror" is one of the few topics where Marx doesn't have the best line:

There were two Reigns of Terror, if we would but remember it and consider it; the one wrought murder in hot passion, the other in heartless cold blood; the one lasted mere months, the other had lasted a thousand years; the one inflicted death upon ten thousand persons, the other upon a hundred millions; but our shudders are all for the “horrors” of the minor Terror, the momentary Terror, so to speak; whereas, what is the horror of swift death by the axe, compared with lifelong death from hunger, cold, insult, cruelty, and heart-break? What is swift death by lightning compared with death by slow fire at the stake? A city cemetery could contain the coffins filled by that brief Terror which we have all been so diligently taught to shiver at and mourn over; but all France could hardly contain the coffins filled by that older and real Terror—that unspeakably bitter and awful Terror which none of us has been taught to see in its vastness or pity as it deserves.

That Mark Twain guy was alright.

It's honestly fucking incredible that the vast majority of great USAno intellectuals were all people that the 1776 punisher skull patriots would have beat to death lmao
