      But also everyone loves a long weekend, so I'm not going to complain if people think they have a long weekend in September because of the commies.

      Everything is symbols of symbols of symbols now. The holiday that was originally instituted as an anti-communist against the radical labor movement is now seen as a communist holiday. Because there is no more labor movement. It's a totally detached, floating signifier just like everything else. Nothing means anything, everything can be redefined. Labor has been defeated and now they are mocking us with its corpse.
