    I know its a shit post but I just gotta say: based on interviews, comments from reaction videos, and making-of docs Marty O'Donnell honestly should get a bigger credit then just "composer". Dude seems like he's been pretty heavily involved in Halo's entire creative process from level design to outright directing the voice actors.

    EDIT: Although now that I think about it...if John Williams made similar comments towards Luke Skywalker i'd consider it cannon also if only cause in both cases the vast overwhelming amount of the drama is driven by how fucking godlike the goddamn soundtracks are.

      He was also the general audio lead. Apparently the Assault Rifle sounds so piddly and weak in Halo 3 because he didn't want it to overpower his music

        Oh, 100% . I nearly made a second edit preemptively to address that fact. I have zero doubt the dude is a huge pain in the ass to work with but I wasn't arguing he was a great human being....just that he is absolutely one of the most important creative figures in Halo's development.
