EDIT: found it thanks to LastTrainToNilbog, movie is “PlayTime”

Hey comrades, a few years ago I watched a movie but have totally blanked on all the details and need help finding it again. I think it was Italian. The main reason to watch it was that it included a ton of large-scale backgrounds with a shit ton of stuff happening outside of the ‘main scene’. I think it was from the 1960s or early 1970s. Lots of office shots. Anyone have any idea what the fuck I saw?

Not Bicycle Thieves, it was much more busy and less “real” if you catch my drift. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Definitely nope, it was for sure an Italian/maybe French movie and was definitely from the 60s/70s. If anyone reading this thread hasn’t seen this film, you need to drop what you’re doing and download it now

Not sci-fi and not romance (there may have been some romantic elements though). I think it was very “look how alienated we are”

was it black/white? were the office shots "kafkaesque"?

What sort of movie was it? Was it more a comedy or a drama? Was it color or black and white? Was the setting period or contemporary? Was it more outdoors or more indoors? Were there action scenes? Was it subtitled? Was it a "good" movie, like something critics would like? Were there lots of overhead shots or was it more of a human height film?

Glad to help! Made an account because I thought that might be it. Great movie. I was lucky enough to see it on a huge screen about a decade ago. Top 5 theatre-going experience.
