Areas with higher levels of poverty are more likely to be food deserts, but for other factors, such as vehicle availability and use of public transportation, the association with food desert status varies across very dense urban areas, less dense urban areas, and rural areas.

Areas with higher poverty rates are more likely to be food deserts regard- less of rural or urban designation. This result is especially true in very dense urban areas where other population characteristics such as racial composition and unemployment rates are not predictors of food desert status because they tend to be similar across tracts.

In all but very dense urban areas, the higher the percentage of minority population, the more likely the area is to be a food desert.

Residents in the Northeast are less likely to live far from a store than their counterparts in other regions of the country with similar income levels.

  • I don’t think there’s any “conservative” way to nudge them to the left on this except maybe to point out similar protests that they agree with in whatever color revolution/etc they’ve seen (but the cognitive dissonance of other gov=bad, my gov=good is a strong one to overcome). But for us, we know that demonstrations like this do not and should not occur within the framework of bourgeois morality imposed on us. Don’t forget too that many small businesses utilize the same practices as large ones in terms of wage theft and other class warfare, so it isn’t as though they’re innocent- they’ve just got a more human face than when a Target or a bank burns down, so it’s easier for chuds to share New York Post articles that attack the protestors themselves rather than the conditions that led to the protests.

Definitely nope, it was for sure an Italian/maybe French movie and was definitely from the 60s/70s. If anyone reading this thread hasn’t seen this film, you need to drop what you’re doing and download it now
