I am currently on such a deep, deep dive into hydroponics that I cannot really really read anything beyond "hydroponic rice is good". I'll just assume that they maintained this positive tone while trying to get used to sleeping with the sound of my hydroponic air pumps filling my apartment.

God I love hydroponics, I'm currently growing cucumbers, dill, tomatoes, and bell peppers :blob-no-thoughts:

That is awesome! I am just starting out, and I have nothing but a few sprouts to show for it so far, but this year when the sun goes away for a few months I am determined to pretend it is summer!

Having some plants in the middle of winter helps my mood so much :meow-melt: what system are you using and what sprouts do you have?

So far I have a Kratky system for growing some leetuce and basil, but I started expanding as soon as saw the first leaf, because you are so right about this improving your mood. I've planted some dill and, more importantly, habanero peppers. I can probably keep the dill alive in a Kratky system, but I'm going to have to go DWC for the peppers, which is why I'm trying to get used to sleeping with the sound of an air pump.

For context, I live about as far north as Anchorage, Alaska. That means the sun is about to pretty much disappear for a few months, This is the worst time imaginable to start growing anything. but it wil help my mood when I inevitably miss the daylight completely some days.

You can do krakty peppers although they won't be as productive. I'm currently growing some out of jam jars and old yoghurt containers in soil with just the light from my window but you could use them to soak up excess rays from your lights. Check out bonchi on reddit for a better idea of what I'm talking about.

What does your system look like? Cucumbers, tomatoes and bell peppers makes my guess some kind of DWC, but if it is something I can emulate with grow lights I am interested.

Aerogarden and then a kratky dill. You could easily replicate it for less money by following a tutorial like this https://youtu.be/Hq1YcONxNkw
