If it hadn't have been the scream, the media would have grabbed something else random to annihilate him with.
It wasn't even that weird of a scream, basically just a normal rally, but the media had to crush him while he was already losing ground to Kerry who was the party insider pick.
Yeah iirc the scream was fine in context at a rally full of cheering people. The media was looped into the feed directly from his mic so they ran with that rather than room audio.
The scream was pretty cringe after coming in third or whatever. Oh, you want to be president? Name every state
if my memory is correct he was already on the downslide in the polls, the dean scream was just what the media seized on
Blaming the scream is to confuse the sign with the signified
Not sure it would have mattered, given what Dean ended up doing later.
Yeah like the others said he was already being pushed aside by the party establishment for Kerry, and I don't think he would have won in the general either if for whatever reason he bounced back and won the primary. Most people were still in War on Terror-mania in 2004, and the rally behind the president effect carried Bush to the finish line.
not a shot in the world, but this question is very funny and I appreciate you for asking it
No dude lol. This is like a 2008 talking point. Not even Blue MAGA today believe Dean would've won in 2004.
The Dean Scream was his attempt to communicate with the crows in the rafters.
Is this like the lib version of asking if the British army could have beat Ghengis Khan or whatever?
