I've got a few ideas as a former lurker turned into power poster:
-
the shitposting route. This lowers the standard of posting so that lurkers don't feel they need to have anything good to say before they post. This is what made me feel comfy posting initially on /CTH
-
an introductions thread. As a former lurker this one got me to post a few times. Everyone loves talking about themselves!
-
Peer pressuring the lurkers to post. This one got me a few times too! I've seen people take different routes from shaming to inviting. I dont like the shaming route - i don't think it's creepy to lurk, most often it's borne of social anxiety or lack of self-worth, and people will post if/when they feel comfortable.
So let's hear it, reformed lurkers of hexbear, what got you to start posting?

This mf took my comment
Mom says it’s my turn with the brain cell today
Post it anyways
Always a good idea to "yes and" something you agree with and see how it goes. Can also be true for something you disagree with
This whole site is basically one big "yes and" routine
Lol it does peeve me when people (here, or whatever other hellsite) start a reply with the word "no" tbh, comes off as really impolite if you ask me (whether or not they're correct)
No, you're absolutely right
Lmao
