It's a magazine that says you should listen to Marx's ideas. Doesn't that make it a Marxist publication by the definition you're using?

You can't assert that the US has a free press and that Jacobin and Teen Vogue are Marxist and then act like I'm stupid for pushing back on that lmao

"Actually the US has freedom of speech" is such baby-brained bullshit. The US systematically murdered and imprisoned the entire black nationalist movement. Steven Donziger was just sentenced to six months (after two years of house arrest) for exposing Chevron. You can't become a citizen if you're a Communist. There are specific restrictions on filming agriculture because of how horrific the conditions are.

There are a million examples of the US infringing on its mythical "freedom of speech" if you're capable of looking past "well actually the first amendment says..."

The US systematically murdered and imprisoned the entire black nationalist movement.

They weren't murdered and imprisoned for what they were saying, but what they were doing.

Their written works remain in circulation, even venerated by the state.

Steven Donziger was just sentenced to six months (after two years of house arrest) for exposing Chevron.

He wasn't sentenced for speaking out. He was sentenced for pressing a judgement against Chevron's property with intent to take it.

                    You can’t become a citizen if you’re a Communist.

You can't become a citizen pretty much full stop. The process is expensive, lengthy, and hyper-exclusionary.

There are specific restrictions on filming agriculture because of how horrific the conditions are.

The closest to the mark, although - again - the real crime is threatening profitable consumption. The reality of factory farming isn't a secret.

There are a million examples of the US infringing on its mythical “freedom of speech”

The US failing to faithfully implement the policy does not mean the policy doesn't exist.

                      There you go again. Lol

Why doesn’t the state or cops go after right wing and reactionary movements that do even more outright criminal activities, but will burn down the black Panthers headquarters and literally piss on food stored for a free breakfast program for black youth in Chicago?

Why were Red Squads created to stop leftists from giving speeches and organizing? If we have free speech, why are we stopped from spreading information and discussing things like unions at work?

Maybe free speech only applies as long as it promotes the capitalist notion and project, and anything that goes against it will be cracked down upon by the state.

They do. From Ruby Ridge / Waco to the dumbass plot to kidnap Governor Whitmer, reactionaries routinely get targeted by the FBI.

Why were Red Squads created to stop leftists from giving speeches and organizing?

Because the organization was threatening boycotts and strikes.

Nobody stopped AOC from wearing her Tax The Rich dress. But as soon as she threatened that Iron Dome money...

She didn’t even threaten the iron dome money lmao. It was going to pass regardless of her voting no or not. Her crying was purely performative attention seeking from a succ dem to distract from the larger issue of us still giving Israel another billion on top of the 3.8 we already do for aid.

And let’s look historically, you’re right. Sooooo many more right wing and reactionary and racists and fascists get stomped out by the state than leftists do. Good thing there isn’t evidence that white nationalists have infiltrated law enforcement and that they actively help protect and support them in racially charged protests and riots.

You libs are just gonna keep on being libs huh? You’re the exact type that would have sold Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht out to the fascists.

Where are you even going with this? We started with "Free Speech Doesn't Exist!" and now we're at "Not enough KKKlowns are in jail"

Are you just arguing to argue or do you have something substantive to say?

So the state can classify whatever information it likes and persecute anyone who spreads that information. What freedom of speech!

Hardly "whatever information". You're talking about video taken from a military helicopter and emails between campaign aids.

That's got nothing to do with political opinion.

So the government can classify anything it deems a security threat (read: anything) and still uphold freedom of speech. Got it.

It's so cool being a Liberal, you get to completely ignore material reality because of some "ideal" or whatever.
