At least in theory, Captain America stands for classic American ideals (i.e. what you're taught in school) and isn't necessarily a government stooge. They explore it a little in the comics.
Plus his main enemies are neo Nazis so :shrug-outta-hecks:

What if I told you people are allowed to like things that are fun, and that humanity likes to create nice fun things despite capitalism and it's okay to enjoy them while still being critical of the capitalist mechanisms that exploit and stunt entertainment

Life is too short to apologize for harmlessly liking things. Enjoy your slop, we only get so many trips around this Earth.

Dan Crenshaw was probably right when he said Chris Evans has probably done more to rehabilitate America's image than anything else in the past 20 years.

The Captain America movies are some of the best action movies released in the past two decades with some pretty tight well crafted spy/political espionage aspects. They are movies that simultaneously acknowledge the ugly gross side of America and present a charismatic lead who dares you to believe the bullshit...and goddamn if Chris Evans doesn't sell it.

Just remember though: the patriotism is as bullshit as the superhero antics. Enjoy your cotton candy but just remember not to lose yourself in fantasy and the sweet soothing drug of state capital propaganda.

It means that you enjoy watching cool people do cool things. I've been watching every episode of the marvel shows on the day they come out. I thought falcon and the winter soldier had some awful messages and blatant liberal propaganda but I still watched it, because I like superhero stuff. It's fun, that's all there is to it

i'm kind of over marvel stuff at this point but i agree the captain america movies are probably the best. first movie is kind of slow but Winter Soldier is probably the best one in the MCU.
