It Follows
spoiler
Watched a little video review that said the monster can be interpreted as a declining quality of life for gen z under capitalism with the threat of climate change and an older generation of boomers who don't care and don't want to stop the problem.
the way to temporarily alleviate the symptoms for yourself is to make life for someone else worse- the further the chain goes the further it can't be resolved (I assume with whoever started it first dying)
Ponzi scheme type
Space Sweepers. Korean film, available on Netflix. An Elon Musk type is the antagonist, very clear critique space billionaire fantasies.
I would like to watch this. Does it have jump scares? (something that I don't handle well)
The Fear Street Trilogy on Netflix is pretty good. Like, it actually has pretty straightforward class struggle themes going on. Other than that, everyone knows Get Out and Us, obviously. Honestly, a lot of horror movies can be interpreted/analyzed through a leftist, if not Marxist, lens.
