It stems from his misunderstanding of his own work and commodification (which has been becoming more apparent the more he talks about it). It's just one quote from the whole stream (of which about half an hour is socialism vs welfare capitalism).
are these things a net good or net bad. i honestly dont know. i could say its "just entertainment" but that in itself is a kind of subversive thing.
