Yeah I hate these. I've posted this before, but I was studying criminology/criminal psychology in college. I have seen a shit load of pictures of bodies. We had to study them. You can find out a lot about the killer by studying what they did with the body. A whole lot of Jane Doe's (meaning no positive ID). A lot of prostitutes. A lot of women of color. You can become desensitized to the images and the violence and the chilling reality of murder but you can never become desensitized to the volume. There's just so many.

So while these people are chortling over a few famous murder cases, there's this massive backlog of other murders nobody gives a shit about except the people who are there to take photos and then move the corpse for proper burial. Maybe some interest might get renewed when they can start to link a body to another body and start to take up the pattern of serial killing. But that's about it. We all know the statistics about the backlog of untested r*** kits. Just go ahead and take that number and start to think about the unsolved cases of murdered women and the true scale of the horror will start to take shape. But again, that's just the bodies we've found so far.

Once you start to think about the number of "missing" women I suggest you back out, because the door is creaking shut behind you, and you're in for a very cold awakening.
