George is the reason that Marxist literature is banned in most prisons. It's banned because he lead an armed insurrection and killed prison guards.

There's a lot of overlap between these two. I wish Van Spronsen had been able to organize more comrades to help him. To be fair, the complexity of doing something like this has increased in the modern age thanks to the security state.

Makes you wonder if that’s the real purpose of all this. Listening to podcasts, posting and maybe giving a few bucks to a left political campaign makes you feel like you’ve done something while only alienating us further. John Brown was right at the cusp of that in his own time. He and the other revolutionaries who fought alongside him effectively set off the civil war, so I'd say he stuck the landing despite being martyred.
