If you mix your sauce and pasta like that and not in a pan/pot, I don't know what to say anymore
Looks like a bowl. But then you don't get the heat of the pan to mix the sauce and pasta properly. The whole point is that you should take the pasta out of the water slightly undercooked and finish it off in the pan/pot with the sauce, with a little pasta water. That way it all bonds together nicely.
Honestly try it, it makes a world of difference. Just don't add too much pasta water as it's easy to oversalt the sauce then.
Starch from pasta makes sauce stick to pasta good. That's it basically.
