Things need to be done for society to happen, but currently a lot of jobs just exist because liberals can't justify giving people money if they don't work for it, rather than because they actually fill a need. 40 hours a week is also a totally arbitrary number.
I don't disagree with you. Work as in humans doing labor is necessary, work as in like 9-5, careers and shit is arbitrary and benefits the bourgeoisie. Some people also do not create value with their job, like investors or cops
