The feds are getting lazier and lazier

This just means capitalist domination is complete, no need to put effort in if there's like 1200000000000000 pointdexter Redditor Libertarian Guys with Asian Wives to unquestionably lap up these arguments and spit them back at you

Unfortunately yeah, the propaganda is just so dominant that agencies can do this. But hopefully they keep being lazy, gives us a chance

It started with this guy complaining that they weren't also talking about Netflix producing imperialist propaganda. Just classic stupidpol shit.

It devolved into them trying to call service workers part of the labor aristocracy.

Oh my word lol. By this guy's logic maids and various servers that work for minimum wage in South Africa are now labour aristocracy. By trying to talk about the global south, he's actively exculded us

Also 80% of workers produce no surplus value? Wtf is this person on?

Migrant workers in the US too, or the people I work with who aren't payed enough to live in the same city as their workplace unless they take on multiple labor intensive and degrading jobs.

They're probably some edgy teenager who only just learned about the exploitation of the global south and has extrapolated that out to mean that some guy that makes $14 a day is somehow privileged and a beneficiary of imperialism even though he sleeps on concrete and eats half his meals out of a dumpster.

I mean this person goes on to say 80% of workers produce no surplus value so I don't know what they're thinking really.

This is what happens when you try to be third worldist but haven't actually read Mao

      Russian brainworms?

It's more like a child/boomer conception by fixating in the word produce. Many farmers or masons might think a waitress doesn't "produce" anything, and so belittle that job. They are working, Bob, you need them, don't be an idiot.

Sure, we as a society don't need some positions and jobs, say caviar sommelier, NFT curator, megayatchs builders, etc but that's another discussion.

Nah this actually stems from who I suspect is a TERF trying to hide it.

That said they do also seem to have a grudge against service workers, and if they're from the west that's extra funny.

well you see, first we must differentiate between use-value and exchange-value. We find that exchange-value is an expressesion of value, which is socially-necessary labour-time.

Just as every commodity must be a use-value in order to have exchange-value, so too must a service have a use-value in order to be commodified and sold. In this case the service worker produces value in their socially-necessary work which produces a use-value for the buyer. The buyer, in consuming the use-value of this service, pays the price, which is an expression of the exchange-value of the service.

Our capitalist has paid the worker the value of their labour-time for the day, and the worker has provided services of a certain value which is higher than the value of their own labour time. The capitalist keeps the additional money paid, thus realising the surplus value in the service production.

When you wash dishes at a restaurant, on a night that has more customers you will wash more dishes than usual, but get paid the same amount of money.

Isn't this the basic idea, since the time is already bought and paid for, its in the interest of a capitalist to get as much as they can from the worker in that hour of work. It's been happening in America a lot recently, cuz workers are quitting jobs and the ones left behind are worked harder.

The link to the thread is in the comments here, rest assured I went off on this dude for like 2 hours.

As someone that's held shitty degrading retail jobs for half my life I was livid.
