even very smart people can get caught up in fascist bullshit because they arranged an invalid or unsound argument that they believe anyway because it validates their ideology. in this case, though, I've never been particularly expressed with the LessWrong crowd - they're like techbros but even less productive because at least the former actually try to build things. instead, they're just constantly high on their own farts, speculating about math, science, and philosophy instead of like, y'know, actually doing the work and publishing papers.
