Im staying home and logged on to protest mass COVID spread.

Let this be a megathread for those resisting being a plague rat tonight, whether your staying home or masking at events. You all are the real heroes.

Currently at work, listening to maskless customers cough into the air. I'll be too tired to do anything tonight anyway, lol.

Hey there comrades, another member of "not spreading a horrific disease" gang. You'd think that would be the bare minimum on hexbear

I was talking to my friend who is having a wedding next year, and he mentions he was visiting his future in-laws in singapore over the holidays

"Yeah man we were gonna do a traditional Chinese tea ceremony before the wedding but then her entire extended family got covid so unfortunately couldn't do it"

bruh...I mean I suppose at least they didn't just try to do it anyway, but still, her entire extended family got covid? And supposedly she has a huge family.

I s2g every time I think that maybe I'm being overly cautious all I have to do is talk to someone who has dropped all precautions to make me realize that no, definitely not too cautious.

Took a family walk to see some neighborhood lights, and now the kids are playing Splatoon 2. We'll watch Howl's Moving Castle in a bit. Pretty good evening so far, tbh

Wear a mask dog, like yeah individual is not as good as systemic but even if you save one life by not spreading COVID that is good. Its an airborne virus and masking is literally proven to stop infections.

The only reason why I am still alive is because of masking, and other people masking. This shit of people refusing to mask has killed homies of mine and other people I know, and like mass masking is something that can be pushed at the grassroots. People are being ableist as fuck right now, but if there was a movement against ableism and COVID eugenics we would be in a better place than this "let them die" attitude that too many people are spouting.

it's just another one of the many infectious diseases humankind has with us now

There are quite a few characteristics that set it apart.

there is literally nothing any of us can do about it now.

masking, testing, nasal sprays, cpc mouth wash, socializing outdoors when possible, and having conversations about these things with people we care about are some of the things we can do.

Yeah if the governments of the world actually gave a shit and enforced a lockdown period then maybe it could be stopped but individually refusing to go outside is not fixing anything nor is socializing some inherently evil thing now

I haven't seen anyone say that there is a problem with going outside or that socializing is inherently evil. How do you feel about masking? It was conspicuously absent in your comment, which to me reads something like "because capitalism exists i am justified in thinking only of myself"
