amazingly the maniac gunman didn't shoot, if he did he would have been more likely to shoot some bystander thinking wtf is wrong with this old man than the alleged shoplifter. I did laugh when he runs after the car in the last few seconds.

At around 0:20 I'm pretty sure you can see his pistol's magazine drop free to the ground. I guess while pistol-whipping the guy (which is perfectly normal behaviour and not at all fucking insane) he managed to hit the magazine release... Utterly incompetent, I can't tell if he has his finger inside the trigger guard, but maybe the only reason he didn't actually shoot anything is that he didn't even have a round chambered.

i went back and rewatched and his magazine definitely fell out.
