I used to eat Subway regularly, because it was incredibly cheap. $5 for a BLT that I could grab inside a 10 minute round trip drive. It was... fine. Like, hardly the worst sandwich I've ever eaten.
When I started working downtown, the food options were way better and available at a short walk. So I gave up on Subway, because Tonkotsu Ramen and fresh-made hamburgers and dumplings were way better, even if they were twice the price.
But now that I'm working from home, I just keep ingredients in my fridge. I can make a Cubano with $2.50 of ingredients that tastes way better, and all I need to do is walk upstairs to get it.
