i can and i will deny
red army uniform supremacy (also the french were p spiffy in ww2)
The French (or anybody else who wasn't German, for that matter) also had the advantage of not looking like a dildo whenever they put their helmet on.
I just wish they weren't so tainted because the fact that they look kind of like modern sallet helms is kind of neat :deeper-sadness:
Also a shout-out to:
-
The black panther uniform.
-
The People's Liberation Army uniform
-
Fidel's drip in the 60s
-
The IRA (can we make aviator sunglasses and beret's into a left-wing dogwhistle?)
-
more fashionable with a few extra ventilation holes, and some impromptu splashes of red just to really make them pop
Adolf: "Don't worry, Hans, the summer coats are fine, we will be home for Christmas!"
The Christmas: "Welcome to Stalingrad, mfer!" :stalin-cig:
a great counterpoint is that their uniform quality deteriorated dramatically throughout the course of the war, even resorting to mixing wood pulp in with natural fibers to stretch resources as much as possible (thus having cracking, inflexible paper-like uniforms by the end of the war that were lampooned in Jojo Rabbit)
Marge "I just think they're neat" meme but she's holding up Nazis.
We know damn well if I talked about how Fidel Castro loved baseball and ice cream, and made Cuba fun, I'd be driven out of town.
Fashionable tumbling down a pit, you’re right.
:pit: :stalin-gun-1::liz-society:
I associate this line more with boomers who have a conspicuously large number books about warplanes
12 year olds will just say heil hitler for shock value
I've never gotten the hype around Nazi/fascist uniforms, they just look like fucking clothes to me
I feel as if the hype comes exclusively from the SS parade uniforms that Hollywood uses for every single movie nazi who isn't an extra. Turns out that just making a fancy military uniform black automatically makes you look like a supervillain. The common brownshirts actually looked like ... well, like the walking turds they were.
inb4 Wehrmacht coats with mirror collars, these where already a thing in Prussia and remained a design element in both West and East German parade uniforms after the war.
Hard agree. Baggy pants tucked into tall leather boots looks stupid as fuck
Isn’t this guy an emote?
Edit: couldn’t find him, but I did find this lol
:chairman-moa:
Well every major fashion house and designer were very explicit fascists
I've been trying to do the same thing, but with the People's Republic of China, Cuba, and the USSR.
-
"Sure, say what you will about China, but they've mastered urban planning. Chengdu is both beautiful and efficient."
-
"Say what you will about Cuba, but its people are some of the best you'll ever meet. Plus their classic cars and colorful buildings are really cool."
-
"Say what you will about the Soviet Union, but they are the reason I'm not being murdered by the third reich right now. Stalin saved my life, and billions of other people's lives."
