What are the most notable differences between Stalin's and Mao's implementations of socialism?

Many of the differences are likely because of the different state that the two countries existed in before and during the revolution, so I'm more interested on the abstract topics rather than overly specific details.

    Well for one thing, the Soviet Union was alone in the world whereas the PRC had all the states in the CMEA, and Yugoslavia, to have diplomatic and economic ties to.

      God damn, I hadn’t thought about it like that.

      Imagine the stress of being the frontman for the worlds first, and at the time only, socialist state trying to build communism.

      It’s like, if you fuck up the hope of the workers of the world pays for it. Just having even a single ally would help so much.
