Beat it last night and immediately jumped into NG+, which is something I never do with FromSoft games. This game fuckin' rules. Lady Butterfly, guardian ape (the first fight not the fight with two apes), and Emma +Issin fights took me a lot of tries but those were the only bosses I really struggled with. Beat geninichro second try, redirecting lightning felt rad as hell

What are y'alls thoughts on this one? I still think I like Bloodborne better, but the gameplay in Sekiro is just smooth and fast idk man.

It's my favourite souls game. it's proof that From isn't too afraid to innovate, which makes me look forward to their other games now that they stopped making Dark Souls.

Also, good news, I'm pretty sure that since you fought Emma, you still have 2-3 of the top 5 bosses in the game left to fight on the other route.

I just started playing this last night. It seems cool, but also too hard. I also hate snakes and don't get why there's a gigantic one with super realistic animations.

I want to get into though! Any tips for not hating the difficulty? (I don't mind a challenge, like God of War on GMGOW difficulty, but it has to feel fair. I'm at the second boss right now and it just seems kinda stupid. The movement options are very limited, and the attacks that can be blocked vs dodged seem poorly distinguished.)

Ngl Sekiro is probably my least favorite FromSoft game. I suck at parrying, which makes it really hard. But unlike the other games, you have no options if it’s hard and you’re stuck. In Dark Souls if I’m stuck I can grind up levels, I could grind up upgrades for my weapon, I could try a different weapon or different armor, or I could summon people for help.

Sekiro has one option if you’re stuck: Git gud and learn to parry.

As someone who bounced off of the Darksouls games pretty hard, I looooved Sekiro. I've heard Darksouls fans claim its harder, which is probably true for someone who got in the groove of Darksouls, but I found it significantly more approachable than DS (which is to say still not very approachable, but at least playable).

Haven't played Bloodborne at all (PC gamer only), but its easily my favorite fromsoft game, and would have easily been my personal game of the year if not for Disco Elysium knocking it out of the fucking park.

There are a lot of aspects of Sekiro that I adore, and I appreciate it so much, but I just don't find it very fun and I've begun to accept that I'll just never finish it.

Once I get to the point of having lost to a boss like 2 or 3 times, I just have no fun grinding them

The Tenchu fan in me will always be lame and bitter that Sekiro wasn't actually a Tenchu game like some were speculating when it was first teased ... (I haven't actually played it, it would probably just annoy the shit out of me)

Too fast paced for me. I stopped playing because Sekiro made me too anxious and I stink at parrying. It's not my flavour, but I can see why people love it.

Sekiro is great, but FYI if you did the Shura ending you actually skipped like 1/3 of the game and most of the harder bosses, so good luck with that on NG+. The freedom of movement and back-and-forth rhythm of the combat makes it probably the most pure fun out of the souls games, but I'd still rank it behind DS1 and probably DS3 overall (can't compare it to Bloodborne because I refuse to buy a PS4 for one game).
