Books are better than the movies. They are the most anticapitalist of all the trendy YA series from that time period

First book is fantastic, second book is very good, third is a little disappointing — you can kinda tell it was super rushed to meet publisher deadlines.

If you liked Squid Game you'll like it

It's my second favorite series after Harry Potter

This is cruel. They are WAY better than Harry Potter, especially wrt the themes, since the story is explicitly about a working class revolution.

Books are pretty good for what they are. Way better messaging than most children's dystopian fiction (looking at you The Giver.)

I don't want to sound like a cock, but they're written for people who probably won't find something like hexbear. If you've made it here, you should probably read the better writing they draw from.

Nothing wrong with a bit of mindless escapism, but the quality of the slop has to matter or my whole life has been for nothing lol.

I read them and enjoyed them. Yet I am here on the hex bear. :very-intelligent: Granted I was a smol bean at the time but they definitely pushed me in this direction.

I wouldn’t be too sure of that. This place is full of actual children.

They're really good. Much better than the cultural reaction to them. I read all three inside 36 hours.
