Like holy shit it's clear she has blatant connections to the Vietnamese government, something your average citizen ain't gonna have at all.

I seriously think your title is a major reason that Americans in particular don't trust AES. It is literally inconceivable to them that a government would do something good for its people without a cynical ulterior motive.

"We have a bunch of plots of marshy land. What should we do with it?"

Vietnam: Give it to people who can make use of it locally as is.

:amerikkka: : Drain the marsh, obliterate local biodiversity, pave it over, build a mall. :surprised-pika: when it gets flooded and ruined because you built it in a drainage region.

They think it’s because the government forces them to line up for support and if the stats were more negative they would hold it as proof.

Yeah, the times I have mentioned this pretty much has always resulted in accusations that this approval is only because of fear of reprisal (If the approval was low what would they think, insert Parenti quote here ). How a country could function with close to 100% "true" disapproval is never mentioned.

I still haven't fully shaken that brainworm. It's getting better, particularly watching China doing cool shit like nuking for-profit schools from orbit, but that reflex to suspect everything is deep in there
