I agree, but also there's a solid chunk of it that is directly critiquing that show so, I think this is one of the few good uses of the art style.
i think i saw it described here as 'rick and morty but good' and i think that's pretty accurate
It’s an amazing show.
Turns out giving one of the head writers of Gravity Falls a team and the ability to make their dream project was a good idea who could have guessed it!
I've watched two episodes. My take is that the show itself is pretty funny/good, but the the background/scenery gags are golden age era Simpsons tier.
Lol, its a good thing. Seriously I've laughed out loud at background/throwaway gags in a way I haven't in a long time.
The opening like 5 minutes of the first episode didn't grab me so I haven't gotten any further
