John Oliver was good today.
I assume you have lib friends who will listen to the funny talky man, so make sure they see this one.
Ok, but then when he starts talking shit about AES they'll also believe him. That actually isn't progress! We can and should have higher standards for our funny talking men!
(Assuming they don't already watch his show.)
Having just enough good takes to keep radlibs buying their shit
Vice :solidarity: LastWeekTonight
Eh, I think he has good in-depth looks into domestic problems and is a pretty shit comedian. At least his writers for LWT are absolute shit, always "that's like getting caught using a urinal naked, when a moose walks into the bathroom and starts trying to sell you insurance! Leave me alone moose, I'm doing something very private!" cue laugh track and a cute shop of a moose in a suit in a bathroom
:shrug-outta-hecks:
I really wish he'd stop doing that tbh, it's like the pokemon evolution of early 00s XD rAnD0m humor
saying he has bad takes but is a good comedian is honestly more offensive than the inverse.
I think he’s a pretty good comedian
First of all, how dare you?
Pretty much any American political person has bad takes on foreign policy so it's not really a unique thing to him
He's really good at getting people worked up about problems in the imperial core. Then he turns around and assures you that America's enemies are so much worse.
It's all part of a cycle. Lure in progressives, then shape their foreign policy opinions closer to the state department. After all, if "our guy" is saying that China Bad and that somebody needs to do something about the evil dictator Lukashenko, maybe he has a point.
I agree that this probably happens but I doubt it's some kind of intentional plan if that's what you're getting at.
Domestic stuff, he tends to be really good at. Geopolitics, not so much.
Oliver is the man. Glad the lot of you haven't written him off.
issuing correction on this post of yours, regarding the terror group Last Week Tonight With John Oliver. you do not, under any circumstances, "gotta hand it to them"
I am sure the man propagating state department talking points is the man.
