There was a thread on this a couple of days ago. I didn't understand what it was about even though I read about this stuff.

It's amazing that media figures like Gray, Greenwald, Taibbi could consider taking money from Thiel. Like, an unknown evil billionaire would be fine, but an actual agency-startfunded private-transnational-panopticon-owning hillbillyelegy-politician-pupeteering blood-drinking-transhumanist billionaire?

"It's not Thiel it's his best friend from college". ok.

I'm the dope for being surprised by this, but for someone like Brianna Gray to describe herself as a socialist, to speak about her consideration of different tendencies, to make all the noises she made over the last year, and take Thiel money, is just fucking lol.

Almost as lol as me listening to bad faith for the last year.

Wait wait, Briahna Gray is already taking Thiel money? That's a moderate wing of fascism speed run.

True accelerationism. The speedruns are getting shorter and speedier.

I'm assuming anyone taking the money will defend by saying there are enough degrees of separation between themselves and Thiel.

Material conditions are the greatest determining factor of ideology. I was a piece of shit but I was also poor as shit (I still am but I used to be too), and I was just barely smart enough to realize who our true enemies are.

Capitalist realism is a difficult prison to break out of if you're comfortable. Not a defense just a reminder/observation.

Hell yes. When your identity is bound up in the trappings of capitalism - clothes, shoes, cars, cribs, status - you don't really want to end that system and live the life that's necessary.

I'm seeing this in fellow workers right now. I'm in a situation right now where a guy that I like as a friend and even is sort of a comrade is being a spineless pos ready to scab for the owners of our store simply because he's been promoted to a management position. He doesn't realize that if he sides with us that he will improve his own working conditions as well as ours. Dude is coming in to cover my lunches off the clock because I said until they hire more people to cover my breaks I'm not clocking out. I won't put my coworkers in the position where they have to tell people there's no manager on the floor because the owners are cheap pieces of shit.

"What did you really believe in that equality stuff? I got a 30k SUV loan to pay back. I needed to buy that and now I need to fuck over my workmates to pay for it."

It's worse than that. I posted about our walkout a while back. I'm pretty sure he isn't even making more than me he just didn't have the balls to do what we did.

Now he's already volunteering to scab when I told him a bunch of people are prepared to walkout on the busiest day of the year.

mfer doesn't realize it's not just going to be no cashiers it's gonna be literally nobody but him. This store has a hundred people working in a given day.

people will just refuse to accept ideas that are uncomfortable to them. like my libertarian who literally will not accept that people are born into circumstances that hold them back. just will not accept. evades, deflects, and jokes until you become the villain for pushing the issue.

Bout to wake these motherfuckers up and if it comes down to it empty my bank account and hit the road. Lemme know if any of yall have a couch to crash on I might be a nomad with expendable savings soon. (I've been a prepper of sorts).

I literally have zero fucks left to give.

Just had a look at some of your posts. How are you expecting any action to play out? Do you think you have the critical mass of workers committed to walking out?

We already did a walkout once and that was after a manager left abruptly. I replaced that manager and now I'm coordinating the next potential walkout (I organized the first one when the other manager left).

That sounds like a decent position to be in from a labor point of view. During a pandemic. With supply chain and workforce disruption or whatever.

Yeah everyone is pretty emboldened since that was just a couple months ago. Most people are down I think just because we all have a collective desire to stick it to the man right now.

I think so, thing is when I told them what I wanted they agreed, they gave me my raise and the promotion but they're dragging their feet wrt the people I demanded be promoted with me.

Surprise motherfuckers you promoted a communist.

I was very drunk rage posting last night, I am setting up a call with some labor organizers I've been working with since I have these two days off and I do have a couple good friends locally that would put me up if I need it.

Referring to libertarians as your property is a good bit.

Just a libertarian with hateful ideas, bitter about the fact that they're cancelled for talking about these ideas. the twist is that their family would have been bankrupted if the taxpayers didn't pay for this person's lifelong medical issues, including (semi) cosmetic procedures. Just like ayn rand.

That lord of the rings named private panopticon bullshit is transnational now. Plenty of governments have signed contracts with them. Everyone's subject to their data and movements being sold to whoever.
