I usually talk to libs, so I'm not as experienced talking to people who don't think anything is wrong with the world in the first place. You may get traction by taking a libertarian-socialist approach, and working on getting them to be DemSocs (and then you can push them from there in different ways). It can be pretty easy to show them some Richard Wolff who is a srs busnss economist but still talks about "Socialism" and "Marx" without being an "SJW" like they'd assume. I guess one think we need to know is what flavor of conservative they are:
alt-right
libertarian
center right (Peterson or maybe Rogan fans etc..)
establishment
traditionalist/bible-beaters
Trying to discuss socialism with a preppy trust-fund kid is gonna be a lot different than someone who just wants to protect "personal freedoms" or wants to "own the libs" or whatever.
