18 hour long headache I said

It has helped me reach valuable conclusions about myself, it can be a valuable tool for self-reflection (more so than psylocibin). But, like, I'm not about that intense, 18 hour long therapy session life.

You can just like, use it to have fun too. Just take like a single tab and vibe. Unless that's what you did, in which case you got a very strong hit. 18 hours of trip takes like five tabs for me.

Taking to much Acid alone in an empty house made me a better person, a calmer person, and comfortable with my faults.

Crystalline DMT, which can be easily extracted at home using Mimosa hostilis bark and an acid-to-base technique, is probably the best psychedelic I've used. I love psilocybin but always get nauseous and the active trip is a 3-4 hour dedicated process. DMT is more intense visually but the active trip is like 5-20 minutes. Then there's a wonderful 5 hour~ afterglow that's like a more visceral microdose. When I use them while hiking, generally how I like to, I feel safer on the DMT because it's the same wonderful psychedelic headspace without disorientation two hours in. Even if I had an overwhelming trip it's over in a few minutes and I was locked in my seat/bed rather than wandering around like on psilocybin.

I've never tried DMT (I've tried 2C-B, which is similar in terms of duration), that sounds wonderful. But where can you even find Mimosa Hostilis? Can't you extract some other, more abundant plant matter that you can find locally?

Other plants contain it but Mimosa hostilis is probably cheaper, more widely available, and ecologically-friendly to harvest because it's a frontier species. Where it's native they even use it as animal fodder and it will probably survive the increasing drought conditions in South America.

I got mine from a Dutch company that ships out of Germany: https://www.mimosaroot.com/product/mimosa-hostilis-inner-root-bark-mhrb-powder/ . It's legally sold as a clothing dye with 50g being enough to provide maybe 10 trips. Extracting it only requires working with lighter fluid around a stove and sodium hydroxide/drain cleaner crystals, both of which are extracted out from the final product.

Don't use drain cleaner, you need pure lye or you can get some nasty byproducts in there.

I've only used the pure sodium hydroxide crystals which are legally sold for soap-making. It's just the same thing used in drain cleaners so the same kind of alkaline burn precautions apply.

Mushrooms were the opposite. Still with the partner I didn’t want to be with when I took them but had a great time regardless and it really let me forget where I was and none of my negative thoughts intruded. 10/10 would eat chocolate covered mushrooms again.

Mushrooms effect me in the same way everyone claims MDMA effects them. Heightened empathy and joy with an added bit of visual stimulation. Then again, experiences depend usually depend on the spore and your mental state.

That's funny, I'm the opposite. Have always felt more internal and ruminative with the goomers

I nearly always take a trip killer (trazodone) and pass out at the 8 hour mark. Wake up feeling not very well rested but I can function just fine.

I spent 6 straight hours staring at the ceiling. I watched gods battle in my ceiling light. I was very sweaty tho

Everything you just said describes why I can't stand it.

Depends on the chemical makeup and dosage. I wish we had some sort of regulated manufacturing process for psychedelics.

Those are big issues, but set and setting makes up a lot of people's bad reactions honestly. You can take real, pure acid and still have a shit time or a no-show.

Or sometimes just not for some people, maybe OP. I love the stuff and though I figure I'll probably give it up at some point, I'm well into my adulthood and still enjoying the occasional reset.

Oh I agree, going into a trip with bad anxiety rarely produces good results. But part of that anxiety can come from not knowing what exactly, or how much, you are taking.

It's just not for me. I've had it in various different settings, and while I've had some positive experiences with it, it's simply not worth the ensuing mental exhaustion and sheer time commitment.

On the other hand, shrooms have provided some of the most memorable and joyous moments of my life. And it's a 3-4 hour long trip that doesn't take up your whole day.

Ah damn that's actually nice to hear, good you can still do shrooms.

Shrooms were my favourite for a long time and I've done more shroom trips that acid trips for sure. Now they don't sit as well with me but every winter season I mean to bring them back since they fit the vibe a bit better maybe. I want to make it a constant to do shrooms on the winter solstice and acid on the summer solstice.

shrooms on the winter solstice and acid on the summer solstice.

Holy shit you've got it all figured out.

I can't imagine how incredible it would be to do shrooms during a blizzard.

Haha thanks. I like to also try to be up for the whole day as well, which is definitely a bit of a harder feat in the summer where I live.

Idk about a blizzard but the outdoors in winter can be soooo gorgeous, as long as you're careful. I remember a couple really great trips out on a farm with a nice wood stove and a bush accessible for adventures.

1P-LSD from a research chemical lab is the only formulation of that drug, an analogue but very close in effects, that I feel comfortable doing and I lost my only source for that a couple years ago. It requires carcinogens and a darkroom to create while looking so generic that it could be any hallucinogen on the tab/in the crystal. That's one I'd love to see commodified by accredited labs because it would create a safe and reliable source for something that's only otherwise safely available when a rogue chemist takes over a nuclear missile silo.

Friend of mine once said she had thought her brain sore on acid. That describes the problem fairly well i think. I wouldn't call it overrated, it's too powerful and impressive for that, but i find it too demanding to just be a recreational drug. Actually haven't taken LSD in over a decade because i just don't have the time and the willingness to comit to that amount of introspection since forfuckingever. Still glad i've tried it, it's fairly amazing tbh. But exhausting as fuck.

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. 'Overrated' isn't the word to use. It's overwhelming, some times to the point of breaking your brain. I guess I just don't understand people who do it like every week or whatever.

You shouldn't have done it by yourself. Get a good dose and party with some friends and go on a hike or to a concert.

Lucky guess? I think there's a big difference if you have a friend or something to do it changes your frame of reference a lot and hijinks ensues.

But maybe it just isn't your thing which is cool too.
