Despite being asexual, I'm a sucker for romantic comedy anime and manga and some of my favorites are exactly that kind of story. So what are the best ones?
Seen and liked:
1981 - Urusei Yatsura - very wacky, but once the pace slows down it becomes very good too. Also mostly directed by Oshii, and has a 10/10 second movie.
1986 - Maison Ikkoku - very cozy, with a very 80s SoL atmosphere. Some of the side characters are annoying in the filler stories, but Yuusaku Godai is a great character.
2007 - Toradora - Kinda overrated imo, and had a pretty meh ending, but Episode 19 was the shit.
2017 - Gamers! - hilarious anime with a terrible final episode. I felt like the MC should have ended up with someone else, but whatever.
2019 - My Wife has no Emotion - I started reading it yesterday and it's a cute manga with a pretty interesting and unique sci-fi premise.
2019+ - Kaguya-Sama Love is War - It's a fantastically written story, with lovable characters and Rose of Versailles references that are only in the anime.
2021 -Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro - The beginning chapters/episodes are horrible, but once the author stops that shit, it becomes a pretty wholesome show.
Seen, but couldn't get into it:
1987 - Kimagure Orange Road - too episodic, which is a shame, as I really liked the premise and the soundtrack is fantastic.
1992 - Video Girl Ai - It's decent enough, and it might have been because I watched it with the VCR mod within My Summer Car lol, but the story didn't interest me that much. Also it's somewhat horny
2000 - Love Hina - Basically Maison Ikkoku, but weeb brained.
2021 - Komi-San Can't Communicate - It's a decent comedy, but a bad romantic one.
They sound pretty interesting nonetheless, thanks comrade!
