This is, paradoxically, precisely why I think Biden is fucked. Team Cheeto is being presented with a choice between the nigh-invincible power of the presidency and imprisonment. The best case scenario for Biden is that he can make a pardon deal in exchange for the actual fucking presidency, but that only happens if he has something he can leverage, and I don't see the rank-and-file libs taking up arms to ensure "a peaceful transition of power." Even if it's just blatant that they're cheating, when has that ever motivated the Democrats to put up a fight?

Thing is, Biden can't even properly pardon these dipshits because they did state crimes too. And there are a lot of state-level politicians and officials who want blood.

No offense, but this is lib shit. No one with enough power to prosecute would because the sick fucks in power want to do the same thing. Their more concerned that the same standard may be placed on them.

They can still selectively prosecute for shit they themselves don't do

Still brah, it won't happen because that would set a standard. No American president will be held to account because the power structure won't have it. Bush wasn't how can trump be?

But now you've set precedent that out going presidents can get charged by the incoming president. So when you and your friends break the law and ratfuck the country, you're going to be held accountable by the next guy.

Maybe that's Biden's leverage? How many DAs are going to buy the "let the nation heal" line and let the Trumps walk? Most of them I'd imagine, and those that don't can be offered patronage jobs in the administration. Whatever the case, I don't see Trump of all people just being like, "Yeah, I give up, I'll go to prison now."

These DAs have two groups to suck up to in order to keep support in their positions or move up. Trying to lock up Trump when neither group wants you too isn't the greatest self-serving move.
