I heard Felix talk about this book a few episodes ago. I'm considering reading it next. Is it a credible, reliable book on the Bush family?

I'm not so concerned by the excoriating reviews the book received and the takedowns of Baker for impugning the Bush clan, but the fact Baker is a regular guest on Coast to Coast AM makes me question him a little.

If it's not worth reading, can any Chapos recommend a good book on GHWB to check out? Thanks!

edit: didn't actually answer the question. I think he's credible, but he's still a boomer lol.

It's a decent book and I don't think Russ is a shill or anything but I'm not sure the book is all that "useful" or "important". Part of the problem with the way we talk about politics is that its politician-centric as opposed to donor-centric.

Hell, we're so brain-washed by capitalism that we call this "corporate influence" and "big business". Corporate personhood worked so fucking well that we think that non-person corporate entities actually do things. Only people can actually do stuff. The Bush family fucking sucks but the fact that they are in the spotlight almost disqualifies them from being decision-makers. I think HW might have been an oligarch but that family just ain't it anymore.

I would love to see Russ Bakers take on some our most powerful modern villains and media oligarchs like John Malone, Charles Koch, Stan Kroenke and James Cox. They own the media empires that create, maintain and shift the overton window to keep capitalism in place.
