I liked the anime as a kid and recently tried to watch it again as an adult, and well, the world building and plots don't really have much to them. The few episodes that I watched recently didn't really have much too them, besides being sort of beautiful in its stylized way. Just fun little what-ifs about cowboys in space, without thinking too much about how any of it would actually work.
I think anime boobs probably had more to do with me watching the show than anything, honestly.
I've watched some of the live action, just to revisit the nostalgia. And, yeah, its not good. Trying really, really hard to translate the stylized anime into live action to the point of having Spike run weird in the intro. Because its live action, all the action is dramatically less impressive and the fight scenes are meh.
But yeah, it just doesn't have anything to say beyond "remember the thing you used to like"
I was going to skip it (still can't bring myself to watch the GitS one) but now I kinda want to watch the whole thing with the laugh track and slappy bass
I liked the show to be honest. The anime was amusing, but never mind-blowing, but it had a beautiful visual style and great music. The live action show is about the same. And, really, Radical Edward was annoying as fuck in both iterations.
