, but especially with hormonal cycles (which amab people have too even though we don’t talk about them as much)

      yeah.

btw im a trans woman and i seem to get monthly periods as well. zero studies on the effect but me and a cousin of mine always complain about the same things at roughly the same time. we get like... really bad bloating once a month and cramps in the stomach. obviously i dont have a vag so no bleeding

The depth of knowledge that trans people have amassed about the effects of different types of hrt on different bodies is incredible. And the fact that science hasn’t seemed to keep up is both unsurprising and sad

weird factoid but i discovered that eating a ton of raspberries significantly reduces the period bloating for me. shared that with all the women in my family and they sing my praises to this day

things people wouldnt have if i werent trans lol

this is entirely unrelated but does libido drop during "period" times? I assumed that was the origin/"practical reason" behind why having sex with someone in that period is a "sin" but I may be wrong

Maybe that's giving too much of the benefit of the doubt to old white men

The science is still out on a lot of it. I’m sticking with info about cis men since hrt is an entire other complication and also these studies tend to just assume trans people don’t exist. There’s a 24 hour cycle that’s mostly about fluctuations in testosterone. But there are also preliminary studies about monthly cycles and seasonal cycles.

Personally I vary between experiencing no sexual attraction to experiencing a decent amount of it, which also varies with my libido. And it tends to come in ~2 week phases, which makes me think it’s a hormonal thing
